Hello, fellow readers and writers!
I hope that all of you are well. Summer started this June, and as we approach July and August, I felt that it would be good to give an update on my own writing.
My Scheduled, Currently-Posted Content For July Is As Follows:
In terms of currently posted content, book reviews will continue being posted on this site throughout the summer on Tuesdays.
For fanfics, my The Last Story fanfic, “The Last Story: Breath Of The Wild,” will continue having chapters posted throughout July every Friday. I finished writing all the chapters in advance for this fic during May! The fic will officially end by mid-August at twenty-nine chapters long. I do hope that all of you enjoyed reading the fanfic so far and that you enjoy reading the upcoming and final chapters.
As for my The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild/Yakitate!! Japan crossover series, “Trials Of The Wild,” new fics, and other updates for the series will continue throughout July and into August. They will continue to be posted on Mondays weekly.
Before I finish this update, there is one more thing I’d like to address: Will I be participating in Camp NaNoWriMo, July 2021?
I wrestled with this decision throughout this June. As you may know, I previously skipped April’s Camp NaNoWriMo for a variety of reasons; burnout from participating in the past two Camps plus the actual NaNoWriMo event in November, taking time to bolster my poetry-writing skills and had one of my flash fiction pieces published in an anthology during this past May.
However, during this past month, I have concluded the following:
Once again, I will not be participating in Camp NaNoWriMo.
This is partially due to work on several other projects. I am currently revising and redrafting several novels, and I am also still writing a lot of flash fiction and poetry.
Another reason for not participating is that I didn’t want to rush the writing process this time around with my writing projects. I have several projects that could be possible Camp NaNo projects, but I realized that they were better off being done outside of Camp NaNo. By not participating in Camp NaNo, I’m giving myself the opportunity to work more on my current poetry and fiction projects and I think it’s needed.
I honestly don’t know if I’ll participate in NaNoWriMo later this year or in future Camp NaNoWriMo events. I think it’s a good thing if you want to have more focus on one bigger project (like a screenplay, musical, a whole novel, etc.) for the month. However, since I’ve been focusing more on writing short-form works lately (flash fiction and poetry) for my original writing, I feel that those are best kept to writing outside of Camp NaNo/NaNoWriMo.
If you are participating in Camp NaNo or plan to participate in NaNoWriMo, however, let me know in the comments below! I’d be happy to hear about your projects and cheer you on.
Thank you for reading and supporting my work. I look forward to sharing more in the future. I hope that all of you enjoy upcoming pieces from me, whether it be book reviews, fanfiction, poetry, or original fiction!
