Hello, fellow readers and writers!
I hope all of you are well.
It’s been a while since I wrote my last writing update post. I thought, with November coming up, that it would be a good time to give all of you reading an official update with what I’ve been working on and also to recap what occurred since my last update.
Original Fiction & Poetry:
Since my past publication of “Summer Heat” in July, I also had another poem, “Twelve O’Clock,” published in Wingless Dreamers’ collection “It’s Twelve O’Clock!” during this past August! I am so happy to have another poem published, and I do hope that you check out the collection and enjoy reading it.
As for other writing, I am currently still writing many short stories and poems, as well as working on various novels. I’ve been submitting to more short story contests, anthologies, and literary magazines more than usual, and I’ll keep you posted if any interesting news occurs related to those submissions.
NaNoWriMo:
As for participating in NaNoWriMo, some of you reading may be aware that I participated in last year’s NaNoWriMo event and actually reached the 50,000-word goal. However, I burned out so hard from participating in both Camp NaNoWriMo events last year in addition to NaNoWriMo that I didn’t even participate in this year’s Camp NaNoWriMo events.
The good news is, however, that I will participate in NaNoWriMo this November! In fact, you can check out my project here! I have no actual title for it yet (hence why it says “title TBD” in parenthesis for the project, but it’s very different from what I usually write since the main cast themselves are all writers. Additionally, this is not a fantasy, mystery, or supernatural genre – it falls a bit more into humor mixed with friendship, for a lack of better ways to define it.
I have no expectation of reaching the 50k word count this time, however, and I have no plans to – this is mainly so I can just write as much as I can to my heart’s content on one singular project and focus more on it. I don’t plan to push myself as hard as I did last year since it led to me burning out, to begin with. However, I do think it would be nice to participate in this event to give me more motivation to work on this specific project. I technically already started drafting it prior to November, but the bulk of the writing will take place during November.
Depending on how writing goes during November’s NaNoWriMo as well as any other notable news that might pop up during the month, I may also post an additional update in early December.
Fanfiction:
I mentioned this earlier in my August writing update post, but my the Legend Of Zelda/Yakitate!! Japan “Trials Of The Wild” crossover fanfic series will be officially ending on November 15th, 2021. The final fic in this series is titled “The Coronation.” It has been such a pleasure to write a whole crossover series during this year for both fandoms. It does not necessarily mean the end of the adventures of the characters involved, but the main story itself is complete.
As for what you can expect in December, I have been working on a few oneshots recently. I currently plan to post these oneshots during the first half of December. Most of them are crossovers, though one or two are contained to a single fandom. I hope that you enjoy reading them when they come along!
Book Reviews:
Book reviews will continue to be posted weekly until the week of December 14th, 2021. I’ll be taking a break from writing reviews from then on until January 2022, when book reviews will return!
However, I will have three bonus posts posted during the latter half of December. One will be a post about the Top 5 Books I Read In 2021, another will list the Worst 5 Books I Read In 2021, and I’ll also have a new Fanfiction Recommendations list! If you want to find out which books I enjoyed and despised the most, keep an eye out for them when they’re posted!
Thank you for all of your love and support in reading my works! Whether you enjoy reading my fanfiction, original fiction, poetry, and/or book reviews, I appreciate all of your kind comments, your likes, your shares, and any other shows of support you’ve given me. It means a lot to me and my writing dreams, and I hope to continue this writing journey with all of you reading.
