July 2025 Writing Update

Happy July, everyone!

May went by very quickly. Fortunately, a lot also happened on the writing side of my life as well, which I’ll discuss below!

But first, I have three special announcements to make…

What Did I Write This Past Month?

I struggled to really make much progress on any of my books last month. Part of this was because I was busy promoting multiple sales in June – not just the Harlow Mystery book birthday sale, but also two Pride Book Fair sale bundles that my first book, “Winner Takes All,” were part of.

I got stuck again on writing the Unusual Adventure trilogy. However, I did finish writing Draft 2 of Book 2, so at least some progress was made.

I also wrote some of Draft 2 of my Infinity Nikki-inspired book, which now has a title: “Our Fates Were Sewn Together!”

I also started writing a standalone cozy fantasy book which, at this time, has no working title yet. The inspirations behind it, however, are books such as “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett, “The Spellshop” by Sarah Beth Durst, “Bookshops & Bonedust” by Travis Baldree, and very mild elements of the game “Little Goody Two Shoes” developed by Astral Shift (I promise that my book is not a horror story).

Other book-related, but not writing-related activities I did included:

  • Submitting more poems and short stories to lit mags for hopeful publication
  • Preparing for the upcoming release of “Stay Magical!”
  • Preparing a book cover for “Found,” my fairytale-inspired short story collection that I hope to release sometime next year.

What Am I Writing This Month?

I’ll continue writing more of “Our Fates Were Sewn Together” (which I’m now just going to call OFWST for short) this month!

I’m not sure if I’ll get to much other writing this month. This is because I’ll be much more focused on promoting “Stay Magical!” going into the next couple of months. However, I do hope to get around to writing more of projects other than OFWST this month – and seriously get some more progress than a couple of paragraphs written in random places throughout the draft. We’ll see how things go!

Thank you for following my writing journey!

I appreciate all of you supporting my writing journey as I continue writing stories and poems that can inspire all of you with hope and creativity.
