Hello, Readers!
Also, Happy Canada Day to everyone celebrating!
Quite a bit happened last month, so let me recap:
Canada Fiction Fest is still ongoing!
Canada Fiction Fest is an online showcase run by N.P. Thompson that features ALL CANADIAN writers, from traditionally-published to self-published authors like myself! Think of it as a GIANT VIRTUAL BOOK FAIR, but every author is Canadian.
Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to my two panels back on June 23rd and June 24th! I really appreciate having the opportunity to share my work with all of you on such a NATIONAL scale, and replays can be found on the Canada Fiction Fest Youtube channel!
This event started back on June 21st, 2026. The FINAL DAY of the event will be July 5th, 2026! Please support all the other authors featured in the showcase as well. They would gladly appreciate the support!
Also, I DO plan to post a video about my experiences taking part in my two panels on my Youtube Channel, so stay tuned for that!
Software Beta Testing for Storyrise!
I’m happy to FINALLY share that I got to participate in software beta testing for Storyrise, a new writing app created by the Storytellers Foundation!
I’ve spent time, since March 2026, giving suggestions and feedback to the Storytellers Foundation team about what made the app effective from a UI and UX standpoint and I got a great look at what work goes into creating a writing app as well! I also got to attend the Storytellers Marketing Mastery Summit back on June 12th-14th 2026, which was when they made the app officially public!
Thank you to Jackie and Theresa from the Storytellers Foundation for the opportunity to work with them! It was an awesome experience and I hope I can collab with them again in the future.
Youtube Videos
I posted THREE main longform videos on my author Youtube Channel last month! Check them out below:
If you’re looking for tips on networking as an indie author, working with ARC readers, or wondering how my experience attending the Storytellers Marketing Mastery Summit went, then you’ll enjoy watching them!
You can expect to see two new main videos this July, focusing on giving great author readings and a recap of what preparing for my Canada Fiction Fest panels was like! I hope you enjoy watching them when they’re posted.
What Did I Write Last Month?
I wrote Draft 1 of Book 1 of the SEQUEL SERIES to the Harlow Mystery series!
Yep, I can 100% confirm that a SEQUEL SERIES to the Harlow Mystery series is in the works, and that Draft 1 of Book 1 is done!!
The sequel series will expand on what happened in the original series, and takes place sometime after the first series ended. However, it’s Aria Hawthorn (Aubri Harlow’s twin sister) that will be the heroine this time around. Unlike her sister, Aria isn’t as savvy of a murder mystery fan, but she’s experienced investigating two mysteries. Will she be able to take the lead in investigating these new upcoming mysteries? We’ll find out.
What Am I Writing This Month?
July is going to be a bit interesting because I’m already focusing on what to publish for 2027 (next year). With that in mind, I’ll be doing the writing-related following work:
- Formatting a to-be-published seasonal poetry collection (Sonnets of the Seasons), which will be published sometime in 2027!
- Formatting the omnibus version of the Harlow Mystery series, which has a tentative release date of June 2027 to coincide with the 5th anniversary of Winner Takes All (Book 1) being published.
However, I also WOULD like to get some actual writing done as well. I want to focus on getting edits/revision done with current WIPs, rather than starting to write new WIPs at this stage (the exception this is writing the Harlow Mystery sequel series).
- Plotting Books 2 & 3 of the Harlow Mystery SEQUEL SERIES.
- Writing Draft 4 of The Secret Gardens We Grew Together (fantasy standalone book).
If I accomplish anything else this month, that’s a bonus on top of trying to get all of the above done!
CANADA DAY SALE!

To celebrate Canada Day, I’m running a Canada Day Sale on Itch.io!
My books Stay Magical! and Refilling The Well are now both 20% off until the end of day on July 7th, 2026. If you know anyone looking for new short stories and poetry by a Canadian author to read to celebrate the occasion, let them know about this sale before it’s over!
Thanks for all of your amazing support!
I hope you all enjoy what to expect me to write about this month. If you want more frequent, in-depth updates, check out my email newsletter!
