March 2023 Writing Update

Happy March, readers and writers!

I hope that last month for all of you was a good one, and that this one is just as good or even better! Today I thought it best to give you an update on what I’ve been up to and what you can expect from me for the next month.

Book Reviews:

As I mentioned during the last writing update, I will now be posting book reviews bi-weekly! You can expect new book reviews on March 7th and 21st this month!

Fanfiction:

Chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10 of my Super Smash Bros./The Last Story crossover fanfic, “Super Smash Bros: The Next Story,” will be posted during this month! Expect each new chapter to be posted every Monday this month.

Original Fiction:

I finished writing the first draft of my King’s Quest-inspired novel in mid-February!

For those that follow me on Tumblr, you may have seen some posts of mine discussing how things are going while writing this novel, and I also have posted about it on Twitter a few times. I still don’t have a title for this novel, unfortunately, but I hope to figure out a working title soon.

My kidlit fantasy book, “Sadie and the Search for the Missing Necklace,” is still currently in the pitching/querying stage as of this writing. The publisher I pitched it to has not responded yet, and it could take up until May this year to hear from them (and yes, this is one of the shorter timeslots I could find to hear back from a publisher – it can often take longer than approx. 4 months). Until then, I won’t be saying much else on this project unless A. I get a response from them earlier than expected or B. the allotted time has passed.

I’ve made very little progress on “An Engagement To Die For” during February. This is because of more-heavily focusing on the King’s Quest-inspired novel and my Super Smash Bros./The Last Story fanfic. However, with both projects out of the way for now, I hope to make further progress through revisions!

Meanwhile, I’m still submitting poetry and short stories to lit mags! If there are any new publications, I’ll let all of you know through this site!
