My poetry chapbook, “Refilling The Well,” is now available for preorder!

“Wait, what!? Claris, I thought you said preorders would be available tomorrow, February 1st!”

Well, thanks to preorder links uploading slightly earlier than planned, I figured I might as well let all of you know starting now vs. later!

“Refilling The Well” will be officially released on February 10th, 2025.

This is my first poetry chapbook, so I appreciate all of your support. I hope all of you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

I also wanted to use this post to answer a few questions about “Refilling The Well,” so check out them out below!

1. What formats will “Refilling The Well” be available to read?

“Refilling The Well” will be avaialble in both ebook and paperback versions.

However, the paperback version is exclusively available through Amazon. Also, apparently you can’t preorder the paperback version – you have to wait until the actual release day before links to order the paperback version are live.

According to Amazon guidelines, my paperback book’s detail page will become visible to readers to purchase my book on Amazon at 12:00 a.m. UTC on its release day (February 10th 2025). If you’re looking to order the paperback version of “Refilling The Well,” I appreciate all your patience for February 10th when it’ll be available!

2. Why is “Refilling The Well”‘s paperback version only available through Amazon?

One major reason is because my chapbook can’t be printed through Draft2Digital.

According to Draft2Digital’s guidelines, “To qualify for D2D Print, your book must be a minimum of 64 pages and a maximum of 740 pages.” My chapbook is shorter than 64 pages, so I can’t print “Refilling The Well” through this site. This unfortunately means that I won’t be able to sell paperback copies of “Refilling The Well” through other retailers outside of Amazon.

Thanks for your understanding! I appreciate it.

3. What themes does “Refilling The Well” focus on?

This chapbook focuses on themes of hustle culture, burnout, and recovery from burnout to have a more sustainable, happier life.

For a bit of background on how I wrote this: I suffered from burnout back in 2023 for a few months. Funnily enough, I started drafting the chapbook before the burnout happened. At the time, I didn’t have a theme for it yet. However, the theme emerged after I got out of burnout and wrapped up its writing last year (2024).

I’ve also heard so many stories from friends and others posting on social media about how they’ve burnt out for a variety of reasons. Some of those stories range from them feeling like hey’re not sure where to go next in their creative journeys, while others don’t feel like they’re as “successful” as they could be compared to others. By writing and publishing this chapbook, I hope that my poetry can give them some hope and let them know that they’re not alone. I’ve gone through burnout, and others have, too – but things get better. If you want to grow in your creative craft, you need to rest and take care of yourself first.

Thank you in advance for everyone who preorders a copy before the official release day!
