The “I Should Have Read That” Book Tag!

Hello, fellow readers and writers! I hope you are all well during these crazy times.

Ever wondered if you have any books you should pick up in the next while, after you’re done reading your current reads? Today, I’m participating in the“I Should Have Read That” Book Tag, which explores those types of questions! I found this book tag on theterrorofknowing’s blog post, and I was interested in trying it out, so…why not?

Here are the questions and my answers!

1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read 

None.

I feel like I’m the certain friend telling people to read this or that book, rather than the other way around. Because of this, I don’t have an answer for this question other than “None.” Sorry!

2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

“Black” from “The Circle” series by Ted Dekker.

This book has been on my reading list for years, and I still haven’t started it as of writing this post. If my reading lists posted prior to this post coming up show otherwise, then I have FINALLY read the book. If not, assume I still haven’t read it.

3. A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

None.

I haven’t not finished a book in a series that I’ve started, as of this time. If I haven’t finished that book, either I 1. haven’t started the book yet, or 2. I eventually decided to scrap the whole series as is, like I did with Rachel Caine’s “Great Library” series.

4. A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

“Farenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury.

It sounds eerily similar to George Orwell’s “1984,” but with a heavier emphasis on books. I haven’t read it yet, but I hope to do so in the near future.

5. A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Game of Thrones” by George R.R. Martin.

I’ve already stated that I won’t be reading or watching this series in a previous Book Tag, but it’s not surprising that it seems like everyone but me has read it. It’s wildly popular, but I also wonder if the actual book series will be finished.

6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet 

“The Princess Bride” by William Goldman.

I LOVE the movie. It was one of my favourites, growing up. However, I’ve never read the book it was based on. Hopefully that will change once I find a copy of the book!

7. A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

“Cinderella Is Dead” by Kalynn Bayron.

As someone who has read retellings of the Cinderella fairytale before, I am somewhat interested in picking this one up. At the time of writing this post, however, I’m fatigued from all the fairytale retellings that I’ve read so far, so I might not pick this one up too soon.
