Hello, fellow readers and writers! I hope all of you are well.
Once again, I’m participating in a Book Tag called the Reading Habits Book Tag! I wasn’t tagged by anyone to do this post, but I also found this book tag on sophsbookworld’s blog. I was interested in trying out this tag, and so I decided to do so. We all have different reading habits, but I never really talk about mine. If you’re interested in learning about my reading habits, keep on reading!
1. BOOKMARKS OR RANDOM PIECE OF PAPER

Bookmarks. Rarely do I use random pieces of paper as bookmarks or dog-ear the books,
2. STOP READING RANDOMLY OR STOP AFTER A CHAPTER/CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PAGES?
If I’m getting frustrated with the book, I will stop reading randomly. If I’m not, I’ll try to stop after a chapter/certain amount of pages.
3. CERTAIN PLACE AT HOME FOR READING?
Yes. I do have a designated room where I read, at home.
4. EAT OR DRINK WHILE READING?
I occasionally drink some water while reading, but otherwise I don’t consume anything when I’m reading. I’m scared of getting foodstains or spilling liquid on the book.
5. MUSIC OR TV WHILE READING?
To answer, in a GIF:
I will gladly listen to music while reading. I find that a lot of good video-game music, like anything from the Pokémon games or other video games, can be pretty nice to listen to while I’m reading a book. It’s either that, or I’m listening to TV (or, more realistically, a Youtube video playing in the background, especially if they’re vlogs, Let’sPlays or Dungeons & Dragons campaign videos). I find that background noise from either of those sources helps me focus on reading easier.
6. ONE BOOK AT A TIME OR SEVERAL?
Several. I am not a person that can read one book at a time. This is both good and bad; good because if I get bored with one book I can just read another one rightaway, and bad because this means I have a constant pile of unfinished books.
7. READING AT HOME OR EVERYWHERE?
Given the current circumstances of COVID-19, I read at home.
Even without the circumstances of COVID-19, I still generally read at home. Nothing changed much in that area.
8. READING OUT LOUD OR SILENTLY?
Reading silently, unless I want to read aloud something I find particularly funny.
9. DO YOU EVER READ AHEAD OR SKIP PAGES?
I’ve probably done both at some point, but not often.
10. BREAKING THE SPINE OR KEEPING IT LIKE NEW?
I try to keep it like new, but then I end up breaking the spine as is. No matter what I do, the spine always breaks a little at some point…any tips for how to not do that, anyone? Let me know in the comments below!
11. DO YOU WRITE IN YOUR BOOKS?
Me? Write in the books while reading? No! Not unless the books specifically encourage you to do so, like in a journal or workbook, and even then I’d have a hard time doing so. I’d prefer writing out my answers on separate sheets of paper if I could.
Those are all my answers for the Reading Habits Book Tag! I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about my own reading habits. I don’t have anyone to tag, but I do hope that some of you might be interested in trying this out.
What are your own reading habits like? Have they changed overtime? Let me know in the comments!
